Children’s and Families’ Programs:

Hawthorne Youth and Community Center, Roxbury, MA:
2007 - 08: Family Story-Sharing Project, families working with literacy coaches to write and publish their special story.
2003 through present  – workshops for students 5 – 18 years and parents making Kwanzaa Candles from re-used and recycled materials for the First Night 2004 Procession, and designer/builder of center piece for the Procession,  2003.   Family & after school workshops for First Night 2005 (Double Vision), 2006 (Heritage Stamps) and 2007 (Once Upon A Book), and designer/builder of procession center pieces, 2004 and 2005, 2006 and 2007; after school art specialist, since 2005.

1984 through present  Boston Public Library - Parker Hill, Codman Square, Dudley Square, Connolly, Charlestown, Egleston Square and South End Branches – various one or two day workshops or series in creative arts with children, teens and adults, 1984 – present.

2007  Roxbury Community College Media Arts Center - assisted Malian master artist Mme. Dagnoko Nene Thiam in a 3 workshop series,  free and open to the public, in the traditional art of bogolan

2007  Paige Academy Family Day,  Roxbury - face painting.

2006  Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA – mosaics, portraits family workshops

2006  Writers’ Express summer program at Simmons College and Tufts University – bogolan workshops for students 9 – 12 years old.

2003 through 2006  Brookview House, Inc./Above and Beyond Enrichment Program, Roxbury, MA –bogolan (mud painting) year-long workshops and other projects with teens and 6 – 12 year olds,  2003 and  2004; Family Activity Nights – Art workshops for homeless mothers and their children, 2005; First Night Boston 2005 Procession - “My Dream House”,  families presenting images of the end of homelessness, and 2006 -  “Stability”.

2005  Boston Children’s Museum, Boston, MA – bogolanfini, family workshops

2004/2005  Shady Hill School, Cambridge, MA –2 two-day bogolan workshops with sixth graders and  teachers, 2005; 1 two-day bogolan workshop with sixth grade students and teachers, 2004;.

2004  Nathan Hale School, Roxbury, MA – workshops making paper yoyos with first grade students 6 – 8 years old, 2004.

2004  Boston Institute For Arts Therapy, Dorchester, MA – bi-monthly art workshops for homeless mothers and their children ages 2 – 12, October – December, 2004.

2003/2004  CitizenSchools, Roslindale, MA – workshops – mixed media and making paper yoyos with middle school students, 2004. Brighton, Massachusetts – workshop in bean/grain mosaic with middle school students, 2003 & 2004.

2002/2004  Summer Arts at Derby Academy, Hingham, MA –two mobile workshops with 7 year old girls, and one portraits in pencil workshop with students aged 8 – 12 years, 2005; one 2 part workshop in bogolan with  ceramic students 10 – 14 years old, 2002 & 2004.

2002  Project Life/Kids On The Move summer program, Roxbury, MA – workshops in bogolan for students 10 – 14 years old.

Eliot Education Center, Roxbury, MA –bean mosaics and paper yoyo workshops as in-service training  for teachers of preschool through grade 2 children, 2005
